Legendary fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto was one of the leaders in Japanese Contemporary fashion, in particular during the 1970s & 1980s. His style was highly influential on contemporary designers like Kenzo, Opening Ceremony, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alessandro Michele & many other current designers. He created David Bowie’s outrageous jumpsuit (see foto) as well as the Ziggy Stardust Tour outfit. in the mid 1980s, Kansai Yamamoto created some of the most elaborate eyewear creations of the era.
