Somewhere in most peoples minds eye of what definitive 70s sunglasses look like, is this fantasy made real. in truth almost nobody was wearing this or anything like it because they were expensive at the time, & yes, unnecessarily glamorous. Regular folks were buying their sunglasses from a chemists shop then, whereas this required the dedicated to seek out something more like an alchemist, & we like to think of ourselves like the mighty Silhouette, as upholding that noble ideal. We would argue that this model 575 is every bit as interesting, innovative & Avant Garde in the late 70s as Silhouettes Futura range was in the 60s. They have formidable scratch resistant glass lenses, an historical footnote in the modern polycarbonate age. Made in Austria to exacting standards. Pre owned & used in excellent condition.
