5006 is one of the most flamboyant & feminine models from our archive & set a template for the tone of many of the collaborations that were to come in the next iterations of the company. The label has had a number of stages so far, beginning in 1970 until the founder retired in the 1980’s. This period is best known for the legendary Model 6031 worn by Scarface himself in the cult movie. The second phase of the brand was a re-launch by her son, some 15 years after she retired. Unlike his mother, he is not a designer, so the company then progressed by collaborating with major players in the eyewear design world ( Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Dries Van Noten, Erdem, Matthew Williamson, The Row etc) in other words, this pair was actually designed by Linda Farrow herself. They are a genuine unsearchable vintage rarity, not to be confused with contemporary reproductions by The Linda Farrow company itself, or anyone else. We specialise in this initial Linda Farrow period of the 70s & 80s & have several dozen in the shop with which to compare. Please note that these are quite a small size. This has been created as a deliberate quirk of curiosity factor, which again, is the kind of idea that would be expected nowadays from brands of this calibre to keep the creativity flowing, but in the 80s it was unimaginable outside of a small number of innovators.
