Original 80’s Linda Farrow sunglasses model 87/ 1026. Imposing wraparound bug eye design that, as is often the case with her designs of this period, end up being even more fashion core in the context of now, than they were in the 80s. They are channelling the style of 1960s Hells Angel biker designs to good effect. The Linda Farrow label has had a number of stages so far, beginning in 1970 until she retired in the 1980’s. This period is best known for the legendary Model 6031 worn by Scarface himself in the cult movie. The second phase of the brand was a re-launch by her son, some 20 years after she retired. Unlike his mother, he is not a designer, so the company then progressed by collaborating with major players in the eyewear design world ( Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Dries Van Noten, Erdem, Matthew Williamson, The Row etc etc) in other words, this pair was actually designed by Linda Farrow herself. They are a genuine unsearchable vintage rarity, not to be confused with contemporary reproductions by The Linda Farrow company itself, or anyone else. We specialise in this initial Linda Farrow period of the 70s & 80s & have several dozen in the shop with which to compare. Unused 80s stock with original labelling in mint condition. We would say that the lenses are pretty dark & would indeed be suitable for a very sunbright climate. frame width (outside widest point): 156mm frame height: 47mm temple length (from the hinge & including ear bend): 135mm bridge width: 11mm inside hinge to hinge: 150mm (All measurements are approximate.)
