This is a pair of fabulous late 1960s or 1970s sunglasses. The lens shape is like an egg on its side, small end pointing inwards to the nose. The frames around them, then look like the infinity symbol. I am not sure but the lenses, which are a dark smoky brown, may be glass but are not prescription. The frames have a sort of ombre effect. They are a warm brown down the arms an on the outside of the frames, but fade, in an ombre effect to beige towards the nose side. The arms have a cut out effect. The only markings on the arms are ‘France’ with a symbol in quotes. I am not sure what the symbol is but am trying to find out. I wondered if it was greek or mathematical but it doesn’t appear to be. I don’t know if these are generic or a brand. It is always hard to size glasses. They are shown on a mannequin head with a small narrow head (hat size 20.5). They fit her head fine, but were a bit tight on my head which is large (hat size 23) otherwise I would be keeping them. I don’t think they are small, just probably best for a small to average size head. They are still oversized. The width of the frames is 6 inches (15cm). The height is Just over 2.25 inches (6cm). The arms join the frame half way up the side of the frames so the frames are both high & low above & below the eye as was the style of oversized glasses at the time. They are in very good condition. There are a couple of tiny scratches on the lenses & frames but they are minimal for the age. These are just such a fab shape. Please zoom in on the photos & feel free to ask any questions.
